The Power Of The Cross

Come see for yourself!

Romans 6:9 : “Christ, being raised from the dead, will never die again; death no longer has dominion over Him.”

What looked like defeat on Friday became victory on Sunday.

Have you ever noticed that the darkest part of the night comes just before sunrise? There are seasons in life when the night feels long, when disappointment, guilt, or pain seems to linger with no sign of relief. Yet, just like the sunrise that always breaks through the darkness, hope always follows the night.

That first Easter morning was the sunrise after the darkest night in history. The stone was rolled away. The tomb was empty. Death was defeated. What seemed like the end on Friday was only the beginning of victory on Sunday.

Because of the cross, our sins are forgiven. Because of the resurrection, we have new life. The resurrection proves that the sacrifice was enough, that sin was defeated, and that death was conquered. It proves that our past does not have to define our future and that forgiveness is available to every one of us.

Maybe today you feel like you are living in a Friday moment, carrying guilt, shame, regret, or fear. But remember this: Sunday is coming. God still has the final word. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead is the same power that lifts us from despair, breaks chains of guilt, and gives us strength to walk in victory.

Luke 24:5–6 asks a powerful question! “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; He has risen!” If He is risen, why hold on to guilt He already paid for?
If He is risen, why stand at the empty tombs of your past?
If He is risen, why live as if hope is lost?

Today, hear the invitation that echoed from the empty tomb: Come and see for yourself! Come see that the grave could not hold Him. Come see that hope is alive. Come see that what looked like defeat has become victory.

Lord, thank You that what looked like defeat became victory through Jesus. Help me to trust You in my darkest moments and to remember that Sunday is always coming. Give me the strength to leave my past behind and walk in the new life You have given me.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
