In The Waiting Room

John 20:27 Then He said to Thomas, 'Put your finger here; see My hands. Reach out your hand and put it into My side. Stop doubting and believe.'

Waiting can be one of the hardest seasons of our faith journey. We pray, we hope, and we trust, but when answers don't come as quickly as we'd like, doubt often begins to whisper. Thomas understood that struggle.

Thomas had walked with Jesus for over three years. He witnessed miracles, heard His teachings, and watched Him transform lives. Yet after the resurrection, Thomas struggled to believe what the other disciples told him. His response was, "Unless I see... I will not believe."

What encourages me most is that Jesus didn't reject Thomas because of his doubt. Instead, He lovingly met Thomas where he was. A week later, Jesus appeared and invited him to see His wounds. Then He spoke these powerful words: "Stop doubting and believe."

Many of us are like Thomas. While we're waiting for God to answer our prayers, open a door, restore a relationship, or bring healing, we allow doubt to cloud what God has already promised. We focus on what we don't see instead of trusting the One who sees and knows everything.

The waiting room is not where God has abandoned you; it is where He is preparing you. Don't allow doubt to keep you from recognizing the blessings God is already working behind the scenes. God's delays are never God's denials. His timing is always perfect.

Today, choose to trust even when you cannot see. Believe even when you don't have all the answers. The same Jesus who met Thomas in his doubt will meet you in the waiting room.

Father, forgive me for the times I have allowed doubt to speak louder than Your promises. Help me to trust You while I wait. Strengthen my faith, quiet my fears, and remind me that You are always working, even when I cannot see it. Today, I choose to stop doubting and to believe what Your word says about me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
